How to make a paper steam boat?

ORIGAMI is the art of folding paper into various shapes;to create animals,plants,objects etc. Making a steam boat is a simple one. Follow these steps to make yourself a nice looking steam boat:



Step1: Take a square piece of paper and fold the paper into half both vertically & horizontally. Now fold the same paper along the dotted lines as shown in the figure.



Step2: After you fold the paper along the dotted lines you'll get a diamond shape. Now rotate the object by 45 degree so that you get the square shape and flip it over.












Step3: Now after flipping the paper you'll get an even smaller square,
start folding the paper along the dotted lines as shown in the figure.











Step4: After you fold the paper along the dotted lines,
flip the paper over once more. You'll find that the
shape is still a square but its dimension has got smaller.
You'll also fine four flaps. Now you need to fold the paper
once again as shown in the fugure.











Step5: After you fold the paper as told in step 4 you'll get a shape where there will be four cups. This is shown in the figure. Open any two cups to make the 'Chimney of the steam boat.

THE FOUR CUPS ARE THE ONES POINTED BY MY FINGER.





Step6: After opening the 2 cups for the chimney,
stretch the other two so that you make the boat
shaped structure. This is shown in the figure.










Step7: Once you complete this your steam boat is ready TADA!!!

Liverpool- Bolton (26 Dec 2008)

'THE REDS' BOX BOLTON ON BOXING DAY

This was the first time in 16 years that Liverpool have remained on top of the table on Christmas,the fans enjoying it thoroughly and hoping that their team win the title. They entertained a Bolton side who have never won against 'The Reds' in the recent past at Anfield.Liverpool have dropped vital points at home,playing for a 0-0 draw against Fulham,Stoke City & WestHam Utd. They also drew with Hull City (2-2),dropping points further.These points could have proven costly for Liverpool had their title opponents grabbed their opportunity to pick up points.All the BIG FOUR drew their last couple of games,keeping Liverpool right at the top of the table.

The first half kicked off in the right spirit,the players happy after Christmas and fans even merrier.Kevin Nolan and Steve Gee shook hands before the kick-off. It is learnt that Nolan is scouser (peculier isn't it?).Liverpool dominated possession,going about with the ball with their usual style and creating chances. Liverpool started with two strikers and two proper wingers (Riera & Benayoun). These two wingers can get you crosses into the box as well as dribble the ball past the defenders to create chances for the strikers. Bolton had their best chance when Kevin Nolan broke away from Hyypia and tried to pass the ball to the rushing Gardner but the ball fell right into the hands of the Liverpool keeper. Liverpool got about half a dozen penalty corners in the first half,converting the 5 or 6th one into a goal,courtesy Riera.Liverpool applied pressure and Bolton were defending deep,giving Insua,Alonso,Carragher to take free shots at goal.Carragher who was playing the right fullback in this game hammered a shot just above the goalpost. Both teams went in half-time with a score of 1-0.

Rafa was still not 100% fit to guide his team from the touchline and it was Samy Lee(formerly with Bolton Coaching team) who took the task on his shoulders to guide the team,keeping in constant tough with Rafa who was seen sitting in the stands.Torres should be fit for the Sunday game against Newcastle Utd and give boost to the Liverpool side upfront. Liverpool started off the second half with much more confidence, making it 3-0 just before the one hour mark. Guess who scored the two goals for 'The Reds'? It was Robbie Keane,much criticized lately for his lack of goal scoring form. The second goal went something like this: McCann instead of clearing the ball properly gave away the ball to Steve Gee who took total control of it before passing it to Keane who slotted it pass Jaaskelainen with his left foot. The third goal came because of some intelligent and quick thinking from Pepe Reina. Bolton players were still on Liverpool's box when Reina rolled the ball to Alonso;Benayoun and Keane supporting him on this break run.
Keane made a nice move into the box,giving yards of space for Alonso to pass the ball to Benayoun who then quickly passed the ball into the six yard box where Keane netted his second and wrapping up the game for Liverpool.Sadly Keane could not complete his hat-trick but he is back to his usual form and Liverpool back to winning ways.

With this win Liverpool stay ahead of the pack with Chelsea still hot on their heals and ManU breathing down their necks with still two games in hand. Christmas just got merrier for the Merseysiders.

Arsenal-Liverpool ( 21 Dec 2008)

The clash between the BIG FOUR is always awaited with bated breadth amongst supporters of either side, every supporter praying his team come out victorious,some yearning for a cracker of a match,some just praying to watch a good game of football. The clash between GUNNERS & THE REDS on Sunday proved to be an equally contested match,lively and all action packed.

Liverpool,the league leaders flew south to London for their big match before the 'Boxing Day' schedule to stay on top of the league. The Reds started with the worst combination of their kit; grey jerseys and red pants ( not the perfect football attire). The match started off well with Arsenal playing their usual style of football,free-flowing and attacking and Liverpool playing the typical European style football. Liverpool dropped their left full back Dossenna; who was in bad shape against Hull City,replacing him with Insua( a promising left full back). Arsenal had their first chance when Sagna's cross was headed by the Togo striker Adebayor,to fall into Reina's hands. Both teams had good possession of the ball after that but just couldn't penetrate the opponents defence. Arsenal made the breakthrough in the 24th minute when Nasri; the 21 year old French midfielder swooped the ball from the half way mark to Van Persie who controlled the ball superbly,made a quick turn,had the pace to get to the ball before Carragher and slotted the ball into the net with awesome power,beating Pepe Reina. Cheers to Persie for a wonderful goal. But it was not game over, Liverpool are one team who can sting you time and again and that too in the most ulikely circumstances. Last year's Q-final match with Arsenal in the UEFA champions league proved that . Liverpool equalized just before half time and guess who slotted the ball past Alumunia( Arsenal's GK)? It was none other than the much criticized Robbie Keane, Liverpool's costly buy this summer. Keane silenced his critics with that wonderful goal,take calmly with absolute composure.

Liverpool could have netted one more goal before half time,Kuyt getting past Clichy and passing the ball right across the face of the goal to Steve Gee,who slid in with full stretch, just missing the ball by a few cms. Liverpool had a last shot at goal before half time when they received a penalty corner,which was taken rather unconventionally. The ball rolled off to Fabregas who was challenged by Alonso in what looked like a nasty tackle,leaving Fabregas crying when both teams went into the tunnel at half time. Reports confirmed that Fabregas had torn a few ligaments in his knee and would be out for all the festive season's matches. SORRY Fabregas,we'll miss you.

The second half started off well,with Arsenal needing a win to stay on for the title race and remaining in the top four before Christmas. Liverpool played rather defensively, their Assistant manager Sammy Lee giving them instructions because Rafa was still not well to come on to the pitch. The drama started off in the 62nd minute with Adebayor receiving a second yellow card and was sent off by Howard Webb,the match referee. Arsenal was reduced to ten men but Liverpool could not capitalize on this advantage and push for a win. It was Arsenal who tried their level best to go for the winner but the match ended as it had started. Nothing could separate the two teams and both of them walked away with a point each in their bag.

Liverpool-Hull City ( 13 Dec 2008)

Premier League leaders took on the Tigers this weekend in their quest to surge further and stay clear of Chelsea. Liverpool started on an attacking mode,unusual of them. Liverpool take their their own sweet time,keeping plenty of possession but not being aggressive at least for the first quarter, playing typical European side football. This time their intent was clear, get a thumping victory at home,in front of the KOPS. But this tactic proved wrong as they found themselves trailing behind Hull City after 20 minutes of the game. Paul Mcshane flicked the ball (header) past Pepe Reina; who is well known for his clean sheets in almost every match and getting the 'Golden Glove' for the past 2 years. The second goal was gifted to Hull by the local boy Jamie Carragher,who is the best centre back for Liverpool so far,starting in almost every single match;be it EPL or UEFA or any other cup. Carragher made the mistake of clearing the ball with his right leg instead of using his left. The ball was hit with much power by Hull City 'right middle' player Mendi that it couldn't be cleared with the awkward position that Carragher had set himself in.

Liverpool were weak on their left defence,with Aurelio injured and Riise transferred Rafa Benitez had no choice but to play Dossenna, who still proves to be the weak link on the left defence. One thing we all can be assured is that one cannot wite off 'The Reds' until the final whistle is blown. they have come back from the dead time and again this season and this time also was no different. Guess who came to Liverpool's rescue this time?? It was the ever dependable and energetic Stevie Gee, slotting 2 goals for Liverpool in a matter of 8 minutes and adding the extra tinge of excitement to the game. Liverpool kept applying pressure, Alonso's strike just skipping past the post,Hyppia's header hitting the wood work but of no avail. Liverpool just couldn't find the back of the net for the third time,dropping vital two points at home thereby giving chances for other teams to contend for the title. Liverpool's form at Christmas time seems like a jinx for them. Last year they dropped too many points during the same time to finish 4th in the league. Meanwhile Hull City's fairytale continues,they being currently positioned at No.5 in the standings.

The match ended in a draw,giving Chelsea a chance to put their noses in front if they win against the Hammers this Sunday.

Blackburn-Liverpool ( 6 dec 2008)

Liverpool had a great chance last weekend to steer clear of Chelsea by staying 3 points ahead of them but the Nov-Dec period seems to be an unlucky period for the REDS. They failed to secure a win against Fulham at 'Anfield' and also drew with West ham United last week.

This week's fixture against Blackburn Rovers was important both for Liverpool and for Rovers as well. Blackburn lingering at the bottom of the table needed something of this game and Paul Ince, the Blackburn manager was under pressure after seeing his team slump to the bottom three. Liverpool had left Robbie Keane on the bench and decided to play with lone striker Kuyt with Gerrard assisting him upfront. Liverpool started the first half very well,keeping the majority of the ball possession but they lacked quality in the 3rd quarter of the pitch,failing to convert the passes from the midfield into anything. Blackburn were playing a more physical game with their players going after any Liverpool player having the ball and putting them under constant pressure. The best chance Liverpool had in the first half was a through ball to Benayoun from Kuyt which the Israeli midfielder failed to convert after a superb clearance by Warnock. Blackburn almost shocked Liverpool with a Pedersen screamer in the 29th minute of the game. The shot was tipped away by Pepe Rein before hitting the woodwork and bouncing off. Credit to Reina for pulling off an excellent save. Both teams went into half time with a 0-0 scoreline.

Blackburn started the second half with greater confidence and determination, pullling off a few crosses into the Liverpool box and keeping the RED's defenders alert. The deadlock was broken in the 69th minute by the spaniard Xabi Alonso went he sweetly placed the ball in the bottom corner of the net. This time he went for accuracy rather than power in his shot. Liverpool doubled their lead in the 79th minute with Yossi Benayoun puliing off a great goal,getting past Warnock with ease. All seemed going well for Liverpool when the unexpexted happened. Blackburn took the penalty corner quickly while Liverpool was still making changes to their set pieces and Reina clearly off his position. Santa Cruz headed the ball past the Liverpool goalkeeper,giving Blackburn some hope of reviving. They took a chance with getting their players ahead for the equalizer, only to find Liverpool put the ball in the net for the third goal. This time it was captain courageous,taking the shot as cool as possible and making sure Liverpool stays at the top of the Barclays Premier league.

Gerrard's presence in the side creates a sort of a confidence booster for the entire team. Whenever the ball is played to him we can expext something of it,the energy levels and commitment shown by him needs to be applauded. Also the consistency with which he is performing is superb. Hats off to Steve Gee.

Liverpool- Marseille 26 Nov 2008 (UEFA champions league)

Liverpool after being held to a goal-less draw during the weekend against Fulham went with full gusto for their Champions league match against Marseille with Steve Gee back in the side. Last year Marseille had won against 'The Reds' at Anfield but 'The Reds' were successful in beating the French side at their home during the previous two visits to France.

The group D fixture between the two teams started with the right spirit. Liverpool needed a draw to qualify for the next round but Marseille needed a win if they had to stay alive in the competition. The match saw the only goal from captain courageous when he flicked a superb header from a cross by Alonso in the 23rd minute right into the side corner of the goalpost. Marseille tried hard in getting back into the game but Pepe Reina pulled off a couple of fine saves to deny the French side of anything from the match.

Rafa was cool and composed about his team qualifying for the next round saying that even if his team had lost the match they had the right spirit to win the last group match and proceed further. Great praises to Steve Gee for showing great composure and attitude when a cigarette lighter was flicked at him by the Marseille fans. he did the right thing by shrugging it off his shoulders. The Liverpool captain has ensured that his team is there in the round of 16 for the fifth consecutive time,keeping their European dreams alive and kicking.

Bolton Wanderers-Liverpool 15 Nov 2008

It was a crucial game for Liverpool to stay in the race for the title. With Bolton Wanderers playing against them at the REEBOK it was a challenging task for Liverpool but given their form this season it should be no big deal to tackle the home side.Both teams started the match by coming out of separate tunnels,unusual elsewhere but a unique thing at the REEBOK. The pitch was slippery and players were skidding frequently. Liverpool started the first half with the kick-off and gradually started dominating over their opponents,creating many chances until Dirk Kuyt scored a superb header with the cross coming from Fabio Aurelio. Bolton's tactics was to restrict Gerrard from running wild in the pitch,playing with just 10 players and assigning a player to mark Stevie Gee. This strategy worked well till Liverpool had not scored. Once Liverpool were in the front Bolton needed to bounce back to get anything out of the game. The old strategy followed by Bolton had only Kevin davies up front thus giving them not many options. Liverpool should have doubled their lead when Kuyt took the ball past the Bolton defender and gave a lollypop chance to Keane who failed to net the ball in from 3 yards. Right before half time Bolton had a corner and also converted it but was ruled out by referee Rob Styles becuase he thought Nolan had pushed Reina,not allowing the Liverpool goalkeeper to move. gary magson was absolutely furiuos over the decision and uttering the the four letter word F***.

The Bolton manager made some more tactical changes to the squad by bringing in Gardner. Bolton started the second half aggressively and with confidence. Their back to back wins had pulled them from 18th spot to 9th in the league table standings. Gardner broke through the Liverpool defence 6-7 minutes after the second half had started,Hyppia failing to mark him properly, he (Gardner) also rounded Reina but failed to score in the open net because just before kicking the ball he slipped and fell,the ball going haywire. In the process to prevent gardner from scoring Agger came running in jsu to find the Goal post and BANG, crashing himself in it and hurting his jaw.

Steve Gee was now playing upfront with Keane,feeling more free than the first 35 minutes which were frustating for him as Muamba was continuously marking him. Keane was substituted for Torres and Riera for Lucas Lieva. Torres once again proved he is the King by tackling the Bolton defenders with ease. His swift move and pass gave Gerrard a chance to take Liverpool further ahead by giving the ball right across the face of the goal but Gerrard too like Keane failed to convert it. Minutes after that, a superb outer foot cross by Torres gave Gerrard the chance to head the ball in,doubling Liverpool's lead and making Gerrard -Torres combination look deadly.
Liverpool had ample chances to take the screline to a higher level but failed to capitalise on the chances,Torres hitting the cross bar and Lucas heading the ball away from the net.

Liverpool's midfield was superbly controlled by Alonso and Mascherano ( the swiftest player in the squad other than Torres).Liverpool once again went ahead,leaving Chelsea to play catch-catch for the top position. The'REDS' got all 3 points and are still serious contenders for the title. Go LIVERPOOL

Chelsea Liverpool Clash,26 Oct 2008

This date 26 Oct 2008 will be remembered for a long time in the minds of Scousers as on this date Liverpool ended the nearly 4 year unbeaten of Chelsea at Stamford bridge and proved yet again that in football anything is possible. The match began with great enthusiasm and hype as to the team winning this match could go all the way to win the title. Prematch analysis by football pundits pointed that the match was going to be a cakewalk for Chelsea for three reasons.First they being at home,second they have much depth in their squad and thirdly they have been unbeaten at home for the past four years. Liverpool started confidently with Gerrard winning the toss and choosing the side he wanted to play in the first half. Xabi Alonso's left footed kick deflected of Jose Bosingwa put the ball right in the middle os the net with Petr Cech having no chance to saving it because he went the wrong way. After that it was game on for Chelsea.

Chelsea pushed hard during the first half for the equalizer they were seeking,but Liverpool's defence was rock solid though they were defending deep,giving Chelsea the room to come forward. Gerrard power ful left leg kick sent Cech on a full stretch to save the ball from droppping below the top bar into the goal. Liverpool received two yellow cards during the first half one for Riera and an another one for Steve Gee. Gerrard's tackle was fair enough as he got the ball first and had he not be booked for that Kuyt and Keane were on a breakthrough and could possibly have resulted in a second goal for Liverpool.Both teams went in to the second half with Liverpool having that one goal edge.

The strategy of Liverpool was clear, defend the one goal lead and make life hard for Chelsea but at the same time try to break away whenever chance permits and threaten Chelsea with a second goal. The best thing about the game was both the teams played the game in the right spirit and both the managers hugging and cuddling each other before the match. Chelsea's best cahnce came when Ashley Cole barged into the 12 yard box but couldn't get a proper strike of the ball on the volley. After that it was Liverpool occasionally scaring Chelsea with another goal and that could easily have been doubled had Alonso's free kick gone in rather than striking the bar and bouncing back.

90 minutes up and injury time also closing in,there was not enough time for Chelsea to come back and it was Liverpool's day,they going right to the top of the table and keeping their chances of the their title hopes flying high. They beat Chelsea which no other team could do in four years,breaking the Stamford bridge fortress for Chelsea.
